EXTRALITY LAB INSTALLATION
Projection Mapping and Paper Origami, Stockholm Sweden - 2023
----------------------------------------
Project Overview:
The Extrality Lab Installation is a captivating 3D projection mapping piece that embodies the spirit of innovation and creativity. Inspired by the Double Diamond design model, this installation merges artistic expression with technological sophistication to create an immersive experience.
Design Concept:
At the heart of this installation lies a broken infinity symbol, constructed from 3D-printed letters and paper origami tetrahedrons. This unique structure surrounds the name "Extrality," symbolizing the continuous cycle of exploration and refinement inherent in the design process. The choice of materials and form reflects the notion that true innovation often arises when one dares to bend, break, or entirely ignore conventional rules, all while considering the broader societal impact of one's creations.
In the early stages of development, I practiced in my living room to test out the lighting effects with different colors. This hands-on experimentation was crucial in fine-tuning the visual dynamics of the installation, ensuring that the final piece would be both striking and cohesive.
Technological Integration:
Leveraging state-of-the-art projection mapping technology, the installation brings the Double Diamond model to life. Dynamic visuals and interactive elements engage viewers, transforming the space into a living, breathing testament to the power of design thinking. The seamless blend of physical and digital elements showcases the potential of technology to enhance and reimagine our interactions with space and form.
Experience the Innovation:
Immerse yourself in the Extrality Lab Installation and witness firsthand how breaking the rules can lead to groundbreaking discoveries. This installation is not just a visual spectacle; it’s an invitation to rethink how we approach design and innovation.
